Red Stone Provides $85 Million in Bond Financing in Four Days

Red Stone Tax-Exempt Funding (Red Stone) successfully structured and closed three tax-exempt and taxable bond transactions totaling $85.27 million via its Red Stone Direct investment platform.  These investments will provide debt financing for the new construction of affordable rental communities in California, Texas, and Utah.

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs’ (TDHCA) Multifamily Finance Division published the 2019 Multifamily Direct Loan Program Overview Webinar and the 2019-1 Multifamily Direct Loan NOFA Application Log. TDHCA’s Multifamily Finance Division also posted an updated 2018-1 Multifamily Direct Loan NOFA Application Log.

Texas Updates 2019 Multifamily Uniform Application

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs’ (TDHCA) Multifamily Finance Division has been made aware that Tab 12 of the 2019 Multifamily Uniform Application, related to Support Documentation for the Site Information Form Part III, does not list Site Control documents as documents that should be included in the Application. Per 10 TAC Section 11.204(10), documentation of Site Control is required at the time of Application submission. Applicants should refer directly to the rules when determining which documents to include in the Application.

Michaels Closes $61 Million Workforce Housing Deal in the Texas’s ‘Innovation Corridor’

The Michaels Organization successfully closed on $61 million in financing for Mission Trail at El Camino Real, a new mixed-income housing community in San Marcos, Texas, that will serve the city’s growing workforce. The majority of the 352 apartments will be reserved for households earning 60 percent or less of the area median income, while 10 percent of the units will be reserved for individuals and families earning less than 140 percent of the area median income. The community will also offer 35 apartments without any income restrictions
