The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) is seeking public comment and holding a series of roundtables to gather input from affordable housing stakeholders so TDHCA may develop a competitive application to HUD for the Section 811 Project Rental Assistance (PRA) Demonstration Program.
The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) Public Housing Division has announced it will no longer offer preferences on rental housing application. The largest driver affecting the change is a statewide economy that has more families in need of public housing for longer periods of time.

Several agencies have released a notice indicating changes to the Fixed Residential Moving Cost Schedule (FRMCS). The FRMCS was developed as a result of the Uniform Relocation Act to assist with moving payments and related expenses for people who are displaced because of Federal or federally assisted projects.

HUD recently issued Notice PIH 12-20 which retracts a former notice, PIH Notice 12-19 titled “Implementation of Funding for Tenant-Protection Vouchers for Certain At- Risk Households in Low-Vacancy Areas”.
The Senate Appropriations Committee on April 19 approved the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Subcommittee’s fiscal year (FY) 2013 appropriations bill. The bill proposes to fund the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs at $46.16 billion, an increase of $1.4 billion above the President’s FY 2013 request and $2.4 billion more than the FY 2012 enacted budget amount.
