HUD Releases Revisions to Final RAD Notice PIH 2012-32

HUD has released a Notice in the Federal Register to announce revisions to the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Program and to solicit comments on eligibility and selection criteria. The Notice proposes updates to PIH 2012-32, originally issued on July 26, 2012, which provided for full implementation of the RAD program.

Utilizing 4% Credits in RAD Transactions Webinar

CohnReznick, Nixon Peabody, and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency present the webinar “Utilizing 4% Credits in RAD Transactions” on Thursday, September 26 from 10:00 am-11:00 am EST. Presenters John Mackey (CPA, Partner CohnReznick), Susan Belles (Manager of Loan Programs, Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency), and Michael Reardon (Partner, Affordable Housing Nixon Peabody LLP) will share their practical experience and insights in helping public housing authorities finance RAD conversions, rehabilitation, and new construction projects by integrating 4% tax-exempt bonds.

Housing Authority of Baltimore City Request for Qualifications Developer Partners for Projects under RAD

The Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) requests qualifications from experienced low-income housing developers to partner with HABC in submitting an application to HUD for the Rental Demonstration Program (RAD). HABC intends to enter an agreement with one or more selected developer(s) selected under this RFQ to jointly redevelop one ore more public housing development(s) under the RAD program or by other means available to HABC under its Moving to Work (“MTW”) authority or otherwise.

U.S. Reps Urge Support of Previously Introduced Sandy Supplemental Relief Measure

Senators Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) recently announced they are set to introduce the Hurricane Sandy and National Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2012. In addition, the Obama Administration recently sent a $60.4 billion supplemental spending request to Congress that details means for responding to Hurricane Sandy.
