NH&RA submitted comments to the National Council of State Housing Agencies’ (NCSHA) draft proposed revisions to its Recommended Practices in Housing Credit Administration (summary, red-line).
The California Tax Credit Allocation Committee (CTCAC), California Debt Limit Allocation Committee (CDLAC), California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) and California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) are working together to develop Universal Spreadsheet Standards (USS), which will streamline the process of seeking project financing.
NH&RA signed a letter to Congress along with 120 organizations supporting federal legislation that would create tax credits for zero-carbon buildings and retrofits. Buildings are the largest single contributor of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, producing approximately 40 percent of global emissions.
NH&RA sent a letter to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs supporting the nomination of Julia Gordon as Federal Housing commissioner/assistant secretary for housing at HUD. The committee will consider Gordon’s nomination after they return from the Independence Day recess next week.
NH&RA joined with 50 other organizations in a letter to congressional appropriators calling for increased Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 funding for the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program. Specifically, we ask for $150 million, an increase of $45 million over FY 2021. This increase would allow the program to serve an additional 45,000 households.
NH&RA submitted comments to the Federal Reserve on its Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) advanced notice of proposed rulemaking, urging the Fed to avoid making any changes to CRA that would decrease investment in LIHTC.
Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) established a $375 million private activity bond (PAB) pool of multifamily tax-exempt volume cap resources available in 2021 and posted the PAB Pool guidelines and FAQs. The CHFA PAB Pool was created to support the development of four percent multifamily housing credit projects in 2021 and to increase the affordable rental housing stock in Colorado. NH&RA is pleased to see the 30-day extension for reservations of PAB cap added per our suggestion in our comment letter.
