Alaska Solicits Comments on QAP and GOAL Program – Due June 11

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) is soliciting comments to the draft allocation plan for the FY 2020 Greater Opportunities for Affordable Living (GOAL) Program and QAP.  These documents govern the allocation of four funding sources: the Low Income Housing Tax Credit; the HOME Investment Partnership Act; the National Housing Trust Fund; and the Senior Citizens Housing Development Fund.

Bipartisan Group of Senators Introduce G-Fee Legislation

Chairman David Perdue (R-GA) and Ranking Member Bob Menendez (D-NJ) of the Senate Banking subcommittee on Housing, Transportation, and Community Development Subcommittee introduced S.1463, a bill to establish a scorekeeping rule to ensure that increases in guarantee fees of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac shall not be used to offset provisions that increase the deficit.

Minnesota’s 2019 Action Plan Comment Period and Hearing – May 7

The State of Minnesota issued a draft of its 2019 Action Plan. This plan directs how the state will meet needs and priorities in 2019 using HUD resources, and will be submitted to HUD to receive federal housing and community assistance funding for the Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships, National Housing Trust Fund, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS and Emergency Solutions Grant. A public hearing on the draft plan will be held on May 7 at 4 pm CDT at Minnesota Housing’s office – 400 Wabasha Street, Suite 400, St. Paul.

Alabama NHTF Application Deadline June 3

The Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA) is accepting applications for National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF) projects. The application deadline for available 2017 HTF funding is Monday, June 3rd. FHFA Announces NHTF and CMF Payments

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced the authorization of disbursements from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to the National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF) and Capital Magnet Fund (CMF). The NHTF will receive $244.86 million and the CMF will receive 131.84 million.

THDA Seeks Comments on 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan – Comments Due April 22

The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) along with its partners, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and the Tennessee Department of Health have posted a draft Annual Action Plan detailing guidance for the federal allocation of an estimated $50 million for housing and community development in Tennessee.

NH&RA joins letter to protect the HTF and CMF

NH&RA joined a letter led by the National Housing Conference, the National Low Income Housing Coalition, the Capital Magnet Fund Coalition, LISC and the Opportunity Finance Network which calls on the Acting Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency to continue making allocations to the Capital Magnet Fund (CMF) and the national Housing Trust Fund (HTF).
