On May 30, Governor Mark Dayton signed into law the omnibus bonding bill (HF 4425). The bill authorizes Minnesota Housing to issue additional Housing Infrastructure Bonds (HIBs), approximately $60 million of which will be made available to applicants for the 2018 Consolidated RFP.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has proposed a new pilot program which would extend the 4d classification to unsubsidized properties. Landlords could receive a 40% property tax discount for offering at least 20% of their units as affordable (60% AMI or less) and keep the units affordable for at least 10 years.
