Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has signed legislation that establishes a new chapter regarding publicly assisted affordable housing, which includes a wide variety of federally and state assisted rental housing projects, including Section 8, federal and state low-income housing tax credits, Section 221(d)(4), and others.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Policy Development & Research has published a Regulatory Impact Analysis for the Housing Trust Fund, which was established by the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 to expand the supply of affordable rental units, and increase homeownership opportunities for extremely low- and very low-income households.

Representative Mary Jo Kilroy (D-OH) will introduce legislation (HR 4099) this week to facilitate retrofitting of HUD assisted properties. NH&RA recently surveyed our membership to find out more about their experiences to date with the TCAP and Exchange programs.
