Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA) and the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) will conduct a public hearing concerning the 2016 National Housing Trust Fund Allocation Plan for the State of Alabama. The Plans contain a preference for projects that target veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The Alabama state legislature failed to renew the state’s historic tax credit program before the end of the 2016 legislative session. HB 62, the seven year extension bill, had tremendous support and passed in the Alabama House but was held up in the Alabama Senate by Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh due to budget concerns.
While attending this seminar is not mandatory, those who participate will receive additional points on each application they submit during the 2016 HOME and Housing Credit program funding cycle.
All applicants must submit Initial Application items to AHFA beginning Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. CST and ending Thursday, February 11, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. CST. Final Applications for the Housing Credits and HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds will be accepted beginning Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. CST and ending at 5:00 p.m. CST on Thursday, March 10, 2016.
Alabama Housing Finance Agency released the state’s final 2016 Qualified Allocation Plan. The 2016 AHFA Multifamily Funding application has not yet been released.
The Board Approved 2016 HOME Action Plan and 2016 Housing Credit Qualified Allocation Plan are now available on the AHFA website.
