The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recently released Notice 2014-39 clarifying questions related to Section 1603 renewable energy cash grant recipients. The Notice provides that the Section 1603 Payment resulting from sequestration during the affected time period does not affect the amount of the Section 1603 Award or the basis of the specified energy property taken into account for purposes of determining the award.

The Senate Appropriations Committee recently approved its fiscal year (FY) 2015 Transportation-HUD spending bill by a measure of 29-1. The draft bill would provide $36 billion in discretionary spending for Housing and Urban Development programs, offsetting receipts estimated by CBO at $9.8 billion, which allows for program funding levels totaling $45.8 billion.
On Thursday, June 6 the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Fund announced the calendar year 2013 New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocations. A total of 310 Community Development Entities (CDEs) applied, requesting a total of approximately $25.9 billion in allocations.
