Qualified Allocation Plans

Kentucky Housing Corporation is hosting an open forum to solicit feedback for the 2016 Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP). The forum will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, from 1-4 p.m. ET, in the conference room of the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority, 100 Airport Road, Frankfort, Kentucky.

In an effort to increase the use of Tax-Exempt Bonds and private investment in affordable multifamily housing, as well as to stimulate the construction or rehabilitation of quality affordable rental housing, Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) has issued a draft Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Gap financing to be utilized with Tax-Exempt Bonds.

SB 377, a complementary initiative to AB 35 that would increase the value of the state Low Income Housing Tax Credit by up to 40% without costing the state any additional revenue, passed off the State Senate floor Tuesday with a 35-0 vote and now heads to the Assembly.

The Tax Credit Allocation Committee announced updates to the 4% + state credit application. Special needs housing type applicants should use the current 4% + state credit application (dated May 21, 2015) for second round submissions.  The previous application had an error in the calculation of the maximum state credit amount.

The South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA) Board of Commissioners recently approved the funding of 15 projects with money from the Housing Opportunity Fund (HOF).

Kentucky Housing Corporation announced the latest round of funding from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) and the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program. Three recipients around the state of Kentucky will receive a total of $237,000 to fund an estimated five units of affordable housing.

Oregon Housing and Community Services released the 2015 Notice of Funds Availability for Veterans Multifamily Affordable Housing. The NOFA includes the allocation of $3,000,000 in Veterans GHAP funds to build multifamily affordable housing for veterans.

Kentucky Housing Corporation announced that the 2015 application for the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) and Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) Program is now closed. Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) and the Department of Local Affairs Division of Housing (DOLA-DOH) announced the award of $7.2 million in federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), $8.3 million in state LIHTC, and $24.7 million in Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds, to support the construction of 1,035 new affordable rental units in areas most impacted by the 2013 floods.

The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) announced awards totaling $9.9 million to assist California communities with a variety of homelessness prevention programs, rapid re-housing assistance, emergency shelter funding and other activities.
