The Arkansas Development Finance Authority (ADFA) announced the availability of $7.5 million in funding from the National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF) for the construction of rental housing for extremely low-income (ELI) veterans.

With funds gathered as part of Senate Bill 2, the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) has made $40 million available for its new Mixed-Income Program. CalHFA’s Mixed-Income Program provides competitive, long-term gap financing for the construction of new rental housing developments that are affordable for a mix of incomes between 30 and 120 percent of the area median income.

Florida Housing will hold a 2nd Rule Development workshop on April 22, 2019 at 2:30 pm EDT to discuss proposed changes to Rule Chapters 67-21 and 67-48 of the Florida Administration Code.

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) is soliciting comments for changes to the current allocation plan for the GOAL Program, referred to as the Rating Criteria and Award Plan (QAP). Any changes will become effective during the FY 2020 GOAL Cycle. The QAP currently covers the allocation of four funding sources, the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, the HOME Investment Partnership Program, the National Housing Trust Fund, and the Senior Citizens Housing Development Fund.

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development released an updated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for the 2019 QAP and Guide. Additional FAQs will be added as questions are received. In accordance with Section 5 of the Guide, waiver requests for the 2019 Spring Competitive Funding Round are due by April 8, 2019.

After reviewing public comments, DHCD has decided to retain the Taxable/Tax-Exempt Financing technique on a limited basis; specifically, this technique will only be available for projects that do not rely on subordinate financing from DHCD through Rental Housing Works and other subordinate financing programs of DHCD.

The New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) will host the 2019 Spring Compliance Monitoring with Fair Housing Workshop on May 16 and 17 from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm EDT. This annual event enables tax credit developers to maintain their certifications.
