Tennessee’s 2020 Challenge Grant Program – Applications Due Aug. 8

The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) allocated $500,000 to the 2020 Challenge Grant Program. Grant applications must be received before 4 pm CDT on August 8, 2019.

QAP Kentucky

Kentucky HFA Executive Director King to Resign in Mid-August

Kentucky Housing Corporation executive director Edwin King has announced his resignation, effective mid-August of 2019. King, who has served as executive director since July of 2017, has accepted a position in the Greater Cincinnati area which is closer to his family.

QAP Vermont

Vermont QAP Meetings – June 28, July 10 and July 24

The Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) will be holding a series of outreach meetings to seek comments on its draft 2020 QAP. VHFA’s proposed changes to the QAP include formatting changes to improve the structure and readability of the document, income averaging in LIHTC projects, updated green building standards and changes to compliance requirements and credit allocation amounts for supportive housing for homeless households.

QAP Texas

Texas 2020 QAP Roundtable – June 26

The Multifamily Finance Division of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) will hold the fourth and final planning meeting for its 2020 QAP on June 26, 2019. The roundtable will be held from 2 to 5 pm, CDT at the William B. Travis Building, Room 1-100, 1701 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701.

QAP Indiana

Three Developers Selected to Participate in Indiana’s Moving Forward Rural Development Program

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) announced that Biggs Development, Justice Property Management & Greystone Affordable Development and Woda Cooper Companies were selected to participate in the Moving Forward Rural Development (RD) Program. IHCDA, in partnership with Energy Systems Network (ESN), will work with these three groups to take on the challenge to preserve a minimum of 30 USDA Rural Development (RD) properties.

QAP Nevada

Nevada State Legislature Passes, Governor Signs State LIHTC Bill

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak (D) signed S.B. 448 that creates a state LIHTC with an annual statewide cap of $10 million that can be carried forward if unused. The state LIHTC has a sunset date of Jan. 1, 2030. Nevada is now the 18th state with a state LIHTC incentive.

QAP North Dakota

North Dakota HFA Executive Director Kline to Retire on July 1

North Dakota Housing Finance Agency executive director Jolene Kline will retire on July 1, 2019.  To honor her 34 years of service, the agency will host an Open House on Wednesday, June 26, from 3 to 5 pm CDT at its Bismarck office, 2624 Vermont Avenue Bismarck, ND 58504.

Texas Hosting Multifamily Supportive Roundtable – June 27

The Multifamily Finance Division of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) will hold a Multifamily Supportive Housing Roundtable on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 2 to 5 pm, CDT, at TDHCA headquarters, 221 E. 11th Street, Room 116, Austin, TX, 78701.

QAP Connecticut

Connecticut QAP Public Hearing and Comment Period – June 20

The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) will hold a public hearing on its draft 2019 QAP on June 20, 2019 at 1 pm EDT at CHFA’s offices at 999 West Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.

QAP Oregon

Oregon Multifamily Energy Program Announces Online Trainings 

The Oregon Housing and Community Services Multifamily Energy Program (OR-MEP) is hosting the first in a series of free webinar trainings on June 27, 2019 from noon to 1 pm PDT.

This training will provide OR-MEP program participants with an overview on the program requirements of the Verification stage to ensure a smooth program completion process and quick incentive delivery.

California HCD Administrative Notice on Interpreting the 2017 Multifamily Regulation Relating to Developer Fee Limits and Capital Contributions

The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has issued an Administrative Notice Interpreting the 2017 Uniform Multifamily Regulations relating to developer fee limits and capital contributions.

New Hampshire QAP Public Hearing- July 15
