The Arizona Department of Housing posted its first draft of the 2020 QAP. Comments should be submitted by 5:00 pm MST on September 10 to rental-qap@azhousing.gov. The Arizona Department of Housing will hold two focus group discussions on the draft 2020 QAP on August 21 and 27.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown signed House Bill 2001, which authorizes missing middle housing in large cities’ single-family zones. Oregon is now the first state to pass state-wide legislation that aims to address single-family zoning.

On July 31, Governor Charlie Baker signed the FY 2020 state budget, which includes significant increases to the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP), the Alternative Housing Voucher Program (AHVP) and Public Housing. The state budget also provides more funding for the state’s Community Preservation Trust Fund through an increase to the deeds recording fees from $20 to $50.

The Chicago Department of Housing released a draft 2019 QAP for public comment. The Chicago Department of Housing will hold a public meeting on the proposed QAP from 2:30 to 4:30 pm CDT on Aug. 27, 2019 in Room 1103A of City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle St. Chicago, IL 60602.

The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority announced availability of construction and permanent taxable bond financing for use with the upcoming 2020 nine percent LIHTC applications. Applicants may apply for this program with reduced documentation. 

The Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH) plans to make up to $20 million in commitments of its subordinate financing for use in the 2020 nine percent LIHTC funding round administered by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA).  Awards will not exceed $4 million per developer or development entity, regardless of the number of applications they submit. Applications must be submitted simultaneously with the nine percent LIHTC application and are due by 4 pm EDT on November 6, 2019.

The Florida Housing Finance Corporation released three draft requests for applications (RFA) for comment. Florida Housing expects to issue final RFAs on August 20, 2019.

The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) is accepting applications under the Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Development Program to fund developments serving special needs populations and persons with disabilities, including residents who are transitioning out of nursing homes and into community living.

The Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) is offering a new loan product for financing predevelopment and preconstruction costs related to affordable multifamily housing projects, either new construction or substantially rehabilitated, that receive an allocation of nine percent LIHTC.
