Tennessee Cancels Special Tax Credit Committee Meeting

The Tennessee Housing Development Agency announced that there will not be a Special Tax Credit Committee Meeting this month. The next Tax Credit Committee Meeting will be September 24 in Chattanooga, TN. More information will be posted on the THDA website. THDA will publish the Preliminary Ranking to the website in September.

Ohio Posts Second Draft QAP – Comments Due August 30

The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) posted the second draft of it’s 2020 QAP which includes the proposed fee schedule for 2020 as well as the Universal Design components for scoring (replacing the Aging in Place criteria). Comments on the second draft are due by August 30. All comments should be sent in writing to QAP@ohiohome.org.

OHFA has drafted a new fee schedule to be implemented upon approval of the 2020-2021 QAP and is seeking public comment.

The Florida Housing Finance Corporation posted draft RFA 2019-115 “Housing Credit Financing For The Preservation Of Existing Affordable Multifamily Housing Developments”.  Florida Housing Finance Corporation expects to issue this RFA on September 4.

California Appoints Judith Blackwell as CTCAC Executive Director, Larry Flood as CDLAC Executive Director

California State Treasurer Fiona Ma announced Judith Blackwell and Larry Flood as the executive directors of two key housing and economic development finance divisions that are under her direction.  Ms. Blackwell will head the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee (CTCAC) and Mr. Flood will lead the California Debt Limit Allocation Committee (CDLAC).

Virginia Offers Free Online Renter Education Course

The Virginia Housing Development Agency (VHDA) has recently made available a free online renter education course titled “How to be a Successful Renter,” which covers the rights and responsibilities of renting. The online education course is designed to equip renters with the knowledge necessary to be responsible tenants and to avoid the eviction process. It is divided into nine sections, with an assessment at the end of each that learners must pass to earn a certificate.
