Last week Governor Gavin Newsom signed 26 housing bills ranging from statewide rent control, the creation of a state historic tax credit, a prohibition on source of income discrimination for voucher holders, streamlined permitting and approval processes, encouragement of accessory dwelling units and resident eviction protocols.

The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) announced that over $129 million in nine percent LIHTCs were awarded to 20 developments that will create 877 apartments serving families, seniors and individuals with disabilities. Kentucky NOFA For Tax-Exempt Bonds with Gap Financing
Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) released the 2020 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Tax-Exempt Bonds with Gap Financing. A combined total of $5.7 million of HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF), and National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF) funds is available.

A new audit from the Los Angeles Office of the Controller examines the city’s progress on Proposition HHH and found that while 19 projects are under construction and two are scheduled to open in the coming months, it is clear that the City’s HHH program is not keeping pace with the growing demand for supportive housing and shelter.
