The deadline to apply for funding for the 2020 Urgent Repair Program is 5:00 pm ET on January 27, 2020 and the 2020 Supportive Housing Development Program deadline is March 2. The deadline for submission of preliminary applications for Housing Credits is January 24.
The Ohio Housing Finance Agency posted the 2020 Affordable Housing Funding Application (AHFA) Instructions for completing the AHFA can be found on the first tab. Beginning in 2020, Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) will require applications to be submitted electronically. OCHS is finalizing this application, which will include an updated pro forma and streamlined project information entry and scoring sheets. The Tennessee Housing Trust Fund Competitive Grants Program supports rental housing development activities for households at or below 80 percent of area median income, including the homeless and chronically homeless; persons with mental, physical or developmental disabilities; individuals recovering from substance addiction; victims of domestic violence; veterans with multiple needs; youth aging out of foster care; and ex-offenders re-entering society. Nonprofit organizations, cities, counties, development districts, other State departments and public housing authorities are all eligible to apply.
Texas Opens 2020 Nine Percent LIHTC Round
The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) opened the 2020 nine percent LIHTC round. The pre-application is due on Monday, January 13, 2020, at 5:00 pm CT. Pre-application fees must be received by this same deadline. The pre-application is not mandatory; however, applicants that provide a pre-application are eligible for six points in the full Application (assuming all applicable requirements are met).
The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Multifamily Finance Division posted the 2020 Multifamily Direct Loan Rule (10 TAC Chapter 13), as approved by the TDHCA Governing Board on December 12, 2019.
After careful consideration of all utility allowance options, the Virginia Housing Development Agency (VHDA) has elected to amend the options available for project utility allowances. VHDA review and approval is required before implementing alternative utility allowances for non-RHS (RD), and HUD Assisted Buildings. The following alternative utility allowance methods are approved by VHDA: Local Utility Company Estimate, Energy Consumption Model or HUD Utility Schedule Model.

THDA intends to propose an amendment related to Special At Risk and Distressed Counties Assistance which would impact the 2020 competitive cycle at the January 29, 2020 Board Meeting.

Florida Housing issued a third Modification of RFA 2019-116 SAIL Financing of Affordable Multifamily Housing Developments to be Used in Conjunction with Tax-Exempt Bond Financing and Non-Competitive Housing Credits. The modification will extend the Application Deadline from December 19, 2019 to December 30, 2019.
