Governor Ralph Northam announced the expansion of the Rent and Mortgage Relief Program (RMRP). Landlords can now apply to receive financial assistance for current and past-due rental payments dating back to April 1, 2020 on behalf of their tenants who qualify for RMRP.
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) announced the second round of awards for Homekey. More than $236 million was awarded by the Department of Housing and Community Development for 20 projects in 12 California communities, totaling 1,810 units. The average cost to Homekey is just over $130,000 per unit and brings the total awarded under Homekey to $312.7 million to date.

The Florida Housing Finance Corporation posted Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) rental assistance application, instructions and documentation guidance. Florida Housing also posted Recap of Tenant Income Certifications templates to request rental subsidy after collecting completed and signed resident applications and associated documentation for each month the household is seeking rental subsidy.

The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) launched its new Market Analysis Application (IMAA). Designed by IHDA’s Strategic Planning and Reporting (SPAR) team, IMAA allows affordable housing practitioners of all types to derive market areas, see integrated demographic and analytic data, study concentration levels, cross-reference with IHDA’s portfolio of projects and identify the true housing needs within a community.
The Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) is extending the Assisted Housing Relief Program (AHRP) to cover rent delinquencies through September. Applications will be accepted starting September 21 and close on September 30, 2020.
The Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC) will hold a virtual 2020 Application Workshop on September 30 from 9 a.m. to noon CT. This virtual forum will be open to applicants who wish to submit a 2020 application for Federal and State LIHTCs, HOME funds, National Housing Trust Fund, and MHDC Fund Balance. Anyone planning on submitting a 2020 Rental Production application should plan on attending.
Montana Housing will accept public comments on its draft 2022 QAP through October 15, 2020. The final 2022 QAP will be presented to the Montana Board of Housing on November 2, 2020. Please send your completed comments to Kellie Guariglia at Montana Housing.
The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) will hold a 2021 QAP training on October 26 from 1:15 to 5 p.m. MT. This workshop is a requirement for the submission of a LIHTC application.
The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA), in conjunction with the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, will hold a LIHTC acquisition/rehabilitation training on October 15 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. ET.
OHFA is sponsoring a training by U.S. Housing Consultants on Conquering LIHTC Compliance. The events will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on October 6 and 7.
