In preparation for the 2021 nine percent LIHTC application cycle, the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) posted a revised 2021 Multifamily Uniform Application for use in preparing applications for multifamily funding from the Multifamily Finance Division. The revised application includes updates to the links between Tabs 42, 47 and 48. The updated links will allow data to conveniently autofill within the respective tabs.
Ten Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Section 11.2 related to the Program Calendar for LIHTC requires that if a 2021 Pre-Application was not submitted, an Electronic Filing Agreement must be submitted on or before Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, in order to ensure enough time for the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) to assign a username for the applicant to create an account. The Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA) is accepting applications for the National Housing Trust Fund (HTF) Program for the remaining 2019 and 2020 funding. Applications to be considered for this funding pool must be received by AHFA prior to 5 p.m. CT on April 1, 2021.
Until further notice, all joint bond and tax credit applications will be submitted by mail rather than through the California Debt Limit Allocation Committee (CDLAC) online application portal.
Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) established a $375 million private activity bond (PAB) pool of multifamily tax-exempt volume cap resources available in 2021 and posted the PAB Pool guidelines and FAQs. The CHFA PAB Pool was created to support the development of four percent multifamily housing credit projects in 2021 and to increase the affordable rental housing stock in Colorado. NH&RA is pleased to see the 30-day extension for reservations of PAB cap added per our suggestion in our comment letter.
The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) and the Department of Housing (DOH) announced that a new Connecticut Opportunity Map has been developed for use in future financing opportunities offered by CHFA and DOH.
Florida Housing will host a workshop on its Community Workforce Housing Loan Program on February 10, at 9:30 a.m. ET. The Program was created to provide workforce housing for persons affected by the high cost of housing and the workshop will solicit comments and suggestions from interested persons relative to this program.
