The Commonwealth of Kentucky and the Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) and the Department of Local Government (DLG) invite you to provide input on community, housing and social service needs to inform the use of the formula allocations received by Kentucky over the next five years. Impacted programs include the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, Funds (HOME), the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG), the Housing Trust Fund (HTF) Program and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Fund (HOPWA). The information you provide will support the development of Kentucky’s Consolidated Plan and Assessment of Fair Housing.
Additional Background Information
Kentucky is in the process of developing its long-term planning documents for Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding, the Consolidated Plan and Assessment of Fair Housing.
- The Consolidated Plan helps KHC and DLG to make data-driven, place-based investment decisions for HUD funding over the next five years. The funding is designed to provide decent housing, suitable living environments and create economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons and neighborhoods.
- The Assessment of Fair Housing (AFH) investigates disparities in access to housing choice and opportunity between groups of people. The AFH identifies housing barriers facing groups in each community and sets goals for actions to remove those barriers.
Stakeholder consultation is a crucial part of the development of both plans and will help us assess service gaps and unmet needs across the Commonwealth. Your engagement is critical. Thank you in advance for your input.
