Build America, Buy America Act (BABA) requirements went into effect on Aug. 23, 2024. This impacts HOME and National Housing Trust Fund awards made at the September board meeting and moving forward.
The BABA requires that all the iron, steel, manufactured products and construction materials used in infrastructure projects are produced in the United States. The Department of Housing and Urban Development further dictates that all housing projects undertaken with federal funds are considered infrastructure.
This training will cover the law’s requirements, and the standards Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency is going to require to be compliant with the law. We will discuss any available development specific waivers and the waiver process.
