HUD published the Final Inspection Standards Notice for the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE). The Inspection Standards become effective July 1, 2023 and commit HUD to review the standards every three years. The notice details inspectable items at HUD-assisted and Multifamily-insured properties, including a classification of which conditions are considered life-threatening, severe, moderate or low-risk by item and inspectable area.

HUD also announced that they have posted answers to new Frequently Asked Questions for the Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP) based on the May 23 webinar. HUD will continue to post FAQs periodically and applicants can send additional questions to [email protected]. The application review window closes on June 29. Applications not selected in the first review period are still considered in subsequent rounds.
