Congress returns from Thanksgiving break with a long to-do list and not much time left. This week will be dominated by the National Defense Authorization Act and funding for the government, which is set to expire on December 3. Attention will quickly pivot to the debt ceiling, which the United States is projected to reach on December 15, as well as passage of the Build Back Better Act. The Senate Parliamentarian is currently reviewing the bill for the “Byrd Bath,” in which provisions that are not budgetary in nature are removed from the bill. Now is an excellent time to reach out to your representatives to thank them for including LIHTC and affordable housing provisions in the bill and urge them to ensure they remain in the final version of the bill.
