The Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH), with the assistance of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA), has launched Phase Two of the Temporary Rental Housing Assistance Program (TRHAP).
CHFA and DOH recognize the challenges landlords and property owners are facing during this public health crisis. To facilitate the process of applying for rental assistance, the TRHAP program now provides an option that allows landlords to access the TRHAP portal and apply on behalf of tenants who need rent relief due to a COVID-19 related hardship.
The prequalification process is set up so that a landlord can apply for rent relief for up to ten tenants. Please be aware that residents who already receive a subsidy are not eligible for the TRHAP program.
To determine if your tenants qualify for TRHAP assistance, threshold eligibility information may be submitted via this questionnaire. Email THAP@chfa.org with questions, or you can reach out to your CHFA Asset Manager, who will be ready to provide you assistance.
