President Obama will release his administration’s FY-2013 budget proposal on Monday, February 13. In addition to proposing funding levels for critical affordable housing programs like Section 8 and HOME, the budget typically provides insight into administration policy proposals for the upcoming year. In previous years the administration has proposed policy changes to the LIHTC and proposed energy retrofitting programs in the budget. We also expect the Administration to propose extending the New Markets Tax Credit in the FY-2013 budget. NH&RA will offer a detailed analysis of the proposed budget during its upcoming 2012 Annual Meeting with two interactive “Washington Download” panel sessions entitled, Congressional & Tax Policy Update and HUD & Preservation Policy Update. Materials for these sessions and others are now available here.
