The White House’s Rural Council is conducting a series of business roundtables with business leaders across the country to gain perspective on opportunities to improve housing & economic conditions, as well as create jobs in rural America. As part of that effort, USDA Rural Development Housing Administrator Tammye Trevino recently met with business leaders and government officials in Louisiana this week to hear their ideas, as well as to educate them about USDA programs and other federal resources designed to support rural communities. The Rural Council, chaired by Agriculture Secretary Vilsack, was established by the administration last year to build on and support an economic strategy for rural communities and expand opportunities for housing, jobs and investment.
