Applications for the National Housing Trust Fund Program (NHTF) are being accepted by Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA) for the remaining 2018 and 2019 funding. Applications to be considered for this funding pool must be received by AHFA prior to 5:00 pm ET, on Friday, March 6, 2020. The NHTF Program Status Report includes pending applications, awards, returned awards and terminated applications.
First Time Applicants
First time applicants should submit the following materials:
- 2019 AHFA National Housing Trust Fund Application Submission Forms (including Architect’s Certification);
- Deviation Request Form (if applicable); and
- AHFA DMS Authority Online Application.
Environmental Studies for NHTF projects will be engaged by AHFA.
HOME/LIHTC or LIHTC Awardees May Also Apply
Projects awarded during the AHFA HOME/LIHTC Program Years 2018 or 2019 may also submit an application for NHTF funds. The applicants must commit to provide five percent of the total proposed units for tenants with disabilities or homeless populations and be in compliance with the NHTF program requirements, inclusive of the 30 percent area median income restriction and the 30-year affordability period.
