The Historic Tax Credit Coalition and Rutgers University recently released an annual study on the economic impact of the federal historic tax credit (HTC). The study says that that the federal HTC continues to outpace other economic activities in its ability to generate jobs, labor income, and tax revenues. The report, entitled “Second Annual Report on the Economic Impact of the Federal Historic Tax Credit,” concludes that the historic tax credit is a highly efficient job creator, accounting for the creation of 2 million new jobs, 145,000 of which were generated in the past two years.
