On January 25, Senator Mary Landrieu (D-La.) introduced a bill (S. 30) to extend by one year the placed-in-service date for low-income housing tax credit rules applicable to Gulf Opportunity (GO) Zone properties. The bill would allow GO Zone properties to be placed in service until January 1, 2013. The bill was referred to the Senate Committee on Finance for consideration. Sens. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), David Vitter (R-La.), and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), co-sponsored the bill.
