The Government Accountability Office (GAO) recently released a report on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program that focuses on the processes entitlement communities use to make funding decisions. “Entitlement Communities’ and States’ Methods of Distributing Funds Reflect Program Flexibility,” reports on:
- the various methods by which entitlement communities use and distribute their CDBG funds to individual projects within their jurisdictions;
- the various methods by which states distribute CDBG funds to non-entitlement communities; and
- HUD’s role in overseeing these methods.
