U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Inspector General Kenneth M. Donohue has announced that he will leave government service in October. Donohue has served as HUD OIG since March of 2002. The Office of the Inspector General pursues public corruption among HUD’s grantees and provides independent and objective reporting to the Secretary and the Congress for the purpose of bringing about positive change in the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of HUD operations. As of September 14, 2010 the Obama Administration had not announced a replacement. The eventual successor must be confirmed by the United States Senate.
