The Washington State Housing Finance Commission recently posted a memo that provides a status report on possible changes to its 2011 low-income housing tax credit policy. The Commission has engaged several stakeholder discussions on several topics related to potential changes in its 2011 policy, including:
- Continued uncertainty in the capital markets and the impact on investor appetite;
- Impacts related to the lack of State Housing Trust Fund resources and other service and operating support funds;
- Unpredictability of federal legislation that may help the program; and
- Empowerment of local decision-making and priority settings
The Commission has not yet proposed any specific policy changes, but will continue discussions in anticipation of announcing 2011 policy recommendations during the Commission’s board meeting on August 26. A public hearing will be held as part of this meeting. Read More…
