The U.S. House of Representatives amended and passed HR 4899 (The Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2010). Although previously passed by the Senate, due to House amendments, the Senate will need to reconsider the measure. As amended by the House, HR 4899 contains a new provision that would increase the FHA multifamily loan guarantee commitment authority from $15 billion to $20 billion. Without the increase, FHA expects its authority to be exhausted by August or September.
