On May 17th and 18th, HUD hosted a RAD training in Washington, D.C. for PHAs and their partners on the conversion of public housing properties under RAD. The training was primarily oriented to those just getting started in the conversion process. 350 attendees packed HUD’s auditorium to learn about topics including resident rights and protections, the importance of strategic planning, and innovative uses of RAD to achieve local objectives. With over 95,000 homes preserved and improved through RAD and the generation of over $5.5 billion in construction investment, there exists a rich foundation of best practices with which to guide those just getting started.
All sessions from the training were recorded and are now available here. Alongside each session, HUD has also posted the presentation slides and a list of “Key Takeaways” that they recommend PHAs periodically review.
