The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) is soliciting comments for a special purpose round of the Greater Opportunities for Affordable Living (GOAL) program. The round is expected to start in early 2018 with final proposals due in late May of 2018.

The special purpose GOAL competition will be dedicated for homeless and supportive housing proposals. AHFC anticipates funding this competition through up to 25% of the 2018 Low Income Housing Tax Credit Authority, National Housing Trust Funds, Section 811 Program Funding, and Special Needs Housing Grants (SNHG). Rental and Operating support may also be available through the SNHG program and Public Housing Division.

AHFC is requesting comments on relevant consideration factors for threshold conditions and rating and award criteria. Specifically, AHFC is requesting comments on barriers and/or impediments to homeless and/or supportive housing proposals. The Special Purpose GOAL competition is expected to provide funding opportunities for urban centers and small communities, and to accommodate a broad range in proposal sizes.

Comments are due by 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018.
