The Building Michigan Communities Conference (BMCC) announced yesterday Jim Logue is the 2017 recipient of the Terrence R. Duvernay award. Recognized as a pinnacle for any career in the affordable housing industry, the Terrence R. Duvernay Award commemorates the lifelong commitment of the past executive director of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). As the namesake of this annual leadership award, Duvernay has the distinction of creating some of the most successful and innovative housing finance programs in the United States.

His passion, integrity and honorable, strong character exemplify the traits that Terry possessed. These are traits that define great leaders. Recognizing Jim’s deep impact on the affordable housing and community development industry is a special example of Terry Duvernay’s life’s work.”
Jim joined Cinnaire in 2003, having spent twelve years as Executive Director of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority. Jim has forty two years of experience in affordable housing, including as Executive Director of the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, Director of Programs and Policy at the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA), and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multifamily Housing Programs at the United States Department of Housing And Urban Development in Washington, DC. Jim also served as President of NCSHA, and chaired its committee for best practices for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit.
Jim and his wife Lynda have three sons and eight grandchildren. They have served as foster parents over the years. They are also committed volunteers, devoting their time to local hospice organizations. As an avid outdoorsmen, Jim enjoys golfing, fishing, hiking and traveling.
