New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced the appointment of Rafael Cestero as the new Commissioner of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. He fills the position left by the departure of Shaun Donovan, who has confirmed as the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Cestero came from Enterprise Community Partners. Before that he was New York City deputy commissioner for development, a post in which he helped craft the mayor’s affordable housing plan. read more…
