Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies has published a new report on the nation’s multifamily housing finance system and the role of the federal government, HUD, FHA, and the government-sponsored enterprises in the system. The report, entitled “Meeting Multifamily Housing Finance Needs During and After the Credit Crisis,” highlights the growing importance of the multifamily sector, describes current and future challenges resulting from the financial crisis, and urges regulatory and policy reforms to meet the nation’s growing housing needs.  read more…
