Ohio Housing Finance Agency Releases the Health Impact Assessment
The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) released the Health Impact Assessment, a report that examines the health implications of a proposed government policy to align affordable housing inspections. OHFA’s Office of Affordable Housing Research and Strategic Planning partnered with The Ohio State University College of Public Health, USDA Rural Development and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to focus on the efficiency of inspections, housing quality related to the alignment of inspection policies, and the potential health impact on vulnerable tenants. The HIA is part of a national initiative of the Health Impact Project, a collaboration of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts, designed to consider health implications when making decisions concerning non-health policies. QAP and Funding Deadlines
- Alaska: AHFC announced the start of the FY 2015 GOAL competition. Registration requests will be accepted via email through June 19, 2014. The formal pre-application deadline will be on July 3, 2014.
- Maryland: DHCD will hold a Pre-Round Information Session on July 15, 2014 for the 2014 QAP. Applications for the 2014 Competitive Funding Round are due by Tuesday, September 9, 2014. The Final QAP and Multifamily Rental Financing Guide are expected to be finalized and in place by early July 2014.
- Oregon: OHCS announced the 2014 Notice for Funding Availability for LIHTC and HOME Funds. Applications must be submitted by August 15, 2014.
- Wyoming: WCDA announced the availability of funds through an application period for $3,000,000 in LIHTC Funds and $5,025,000 available in HOME funds. The application deadline is August 22, 2014.
QAP Drafts, Comment Periods, & Public Hearings
- California: CTCAC provided revised guidance for prospective second round applicants regarding energy efficiency requirements in the California QAP.
- Kentucky: KHC will host two forums to solicit feedback for the 2015 Draft Kentucky QAP and scoring criteria for the 2015 funding round. The draft QAP and score sheet will be posted to KHC’s website by Friday, June 20. The forums will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 and Thursday, July 17, 2014.
- Tennessee: THDA released the 2015 Draft Tennessee QAP. Written comments for the 2014 Draft Tennessee QAP will be accepted until July 14. Please submit comments by email to Michael Blade, Director and Assistant Legal Counsel for Multifamily Development, at MBlade@thda.org.
- Utah: Utah Housing will host a public hearing for the 2015 Utah QAP on June 19, 2014.
- Virginia: VHDA will host a 2015 QAP Forum on Thursday, July 17 at the Virginia Housing Center in Glen Allen, and remotely at their southwest location in Wytheville.
