Builders and developers in six Kansas communities will receive a combined total of $1,696,000 in Kansas Housing Investor Tax Credits (KHITCs) to develop affordable housing for moderate-income families in rural areas of the state. The awards, made possible through the state’s Kansas Housing Investor Tax Credit Program, provide resources for housing development in rural communities.
Combined with leveraged resources to support the proposed initiatives, the awards represent a total investment of $13,547,790 and a net gain of 54 affordable, quality housing units.
This round of awards will assist with the development of six projects:
- Four single-family homes in Goodland;
- Ten single-family homes in Phillipsburg;
- Six single-family homes for sale and ten multifamily duplex units for rent in Abilene;
- Sixteen multifamily rental units in Wellsville;
- Three single-family homes in Holton; and
- Five single-family homes in Independence.
