The Department for Local Government (DLG) updated the Multifamily New Construction application and Policy & Procedures for the 2021 CDBG Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program to no longer require a developer (or any other applicant) to bring a CDBG-DR certified administrator as part of their application or be included in the budget/financial model for the project. DLG will provide the required CDBG-DR certified administrator to any funded project.
In the section of the application that asks for the description and capacity of the grant administrator, you may write in “not applicable.” Both the CDBG-DR application and policy document can be found on DLG’s Disaster Recovery page.
As a reminder, developers applying for Kentucky Housing Corporation’s 2024 Tax-Exempt Bond Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Western Kentucky Disaster Response may also request CDBG-DR funds to pair with KHC resources. Please note that the CDBG-DR application is a separate process from the KHC application; however, applicants are required to indicate in the KHC application if they are seeking CDBG-DR funds and the amount requested.
The application submission deadline for KHC’s 2024 Tax-Exempt Bond NOFA for Western Kentucky Disaster Response is noon ET on Feb. 29, 2024; however, due to the delay in the availability of their application, DLG is extending the CDBG-DR application deadline by two weeks to March 14, 2024, for the Multifamily New Construction Rental program.
