Happy New Year! Both the House and Senate remain in recess this week. When they return next week, they’ll have just ten legislative days ahead of the first of two FY 2024 continuing resolution deadlines on January 19. HUD funding is included in the first tranche, along with Agriculture-Rural Development, Military Construction-Veterans Affairs, Energy & Water and Transportation. The remaining eight appropriations bills will need to be addressed before the next deadline of February 2.
Both appropriations bills offer potential vehicles for a tax package. Please continue to reach out to your members of congress urging them to ask leadership to include provisions from the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act (S. 1557/H.R. 3238) in a tax package.
