Beacon Communities was featured in a December article in the Boston GlobeA Miracle on Clarendon Street: How a Back Bay Building Became Apartments for Homeless People.” The article discusses Beacon’s ability to create desperately needed apartments for individuals experiencing homelessness in Boston’s Back Bay, which was made possible by the collective effort of the City of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in collaboration with countless local partners. The Miracle on Clarendon Street was initiated during the pandemic, which led one developer to back out and another developer to step in with the improbable idea of converting a historic building in the Back Bay into affordable housing.
