Holly Wiedemann, founder and president of AU Associates and NH&RA Board Chair, Mayor Linda Gorton and Council member Josh McCurn held a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 10 to officially open Lexington’s newest affordable housing development for seniors, Meadowthorpe Landing. This urban infill development provides 71 units of affordable senior housing for Lexington and Fayette County, addressing the increasing and prevalent need for affordable housing options for independent seniors.
All of the units are designated as affordable housing, the driving force behind the majority of AU Associates’ endeavors. These luxury apartments come equipped with energy efficient appliances, central heating and air, extra storage, a secure building access control system, abundant natural lighting and modern interior aesthetics. The development also provides a community room, fitness area, walking trails, laundry facilities, an outdoor gazebo and extensive landscaping. All floors are served by an elevator.
