The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) released a $3,377,390 2020 National Housing Trust Fund Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). The funding will go to Public Housing Authorities and nonprofit developers to implement eligible, affordable rental housing development activities, including the acquisition and/or rehabilitation of units or the new construction of units for rent to extremely low-income persons. The maximum National Housing Trust Fund grant is $900,000. Applicants must apply for a minimum of $100,000. The 2020 National Housing Trust Fund grant period will begin July 1, 2020 and will end June 30, 2020. Applications for the 2020 National Housing Trust Fund Grant must be received by THDA on or before 4:00 PM CT on Thursday, April 2, 2020. THDA anticipates notifying successful applicants by May 31, 2020.
THDA will hold a workshop on the NOFA on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 9:00 am to noon CT at the Jackson Housing Authority (125 Preston St. – Board Room – Jackson, TN). Interested organizations are encouraged to contact THDA in advance of the application deadline to review program requirements and to ask specific application questions. THDA welcomes requests from any organization seeking a one-on-one discussion concerning the program and application requirements.
