Carr Hagan passed away quite unexpectedly on January 29 after a brief illness. He will be deeply missed by his children Liam and Lila and his extended family, as well as his many friends and colleagues at LHP and the broader affordable housing community.

Carr was a champion for affordable housing and played an instrumental role in the preservation of more than 12,500 affordable apartments since joining LHP Development in 2002. He was also a dedicated advocate for policies to expand affordable housing opportunities in Tennessee and beyond. Carr served as a member of NH&RA’s Board of Directors for nearly ten years. He was instrumental in the formation of NH&RA’s Tennessee Developers Council (TDC) and NH&RA’s Bond Developers Policy Council. He was a dedicated leader and source of keen insight on many NH&RA and TDC initiatives. He recently spearheaded a successful TDC outreach initiative with the senior leaders in Tennessee State Government.

Carr was a committed father, a generous mentor, a dedicated advocate and a cherished friend. We at NH&RA often relied on his leadership and guidance and will miss his generous spirit and sense of humor.  Our deepest sympathies are with his family, friends and colleagues. In lieu of flowers, Carr’s family has asked for your support of any of the following organizations or a charity of your choice:
