Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) Training Academy will host a two-day training on May 9 and 10, 2019, at Lexington-Fayette Urban County Housing Authority, 300 West New Circle Road, Lexington, Kentucky.
The training is geared towards property management companies, syndicators and owners that are responsible for maintaining compliance with the LIHTC Program. The training is being provided for $150 for OCCH partners or $375 for non-OCCH partners. A Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) exam will be offered directly after the training on Friday, May 10, 2019 for an additional fee of $175 or $100 for those retaking the exam. Early registration is encouraged due to limited space. Lunch will be on your own. The training will cover the following topics:
- Determining resident eligibility and resident certifications: Full time student rules, income and asset calculations according to the rules of HUD Handbook 4350.3, proper verification of applicant income.
- Qualifying the building and property: Calculating the applicable fraction and qualified basis, reviewing IRS Form 8609, meeting the minimum set-aside, establishing gross and tenant-paid rents.
- Maintaining housing credits: The Available Unit Rule, unit transfers, record keeping and compliance documentation.
