The California Department of Housing and Community Development announced $53.3 million in awards for the first round of the California Emergency Solutions and Housing Program (CESH). CESH is a state program providing funds for a variety of activities to assist people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
CESH program funds have been awarded to applicants and Continuums of Care — planning bodies that coordinate housing and services funding for homeless families and individuals. Funds will be used to provide rental assistance, housing relocation, stabilization and outreach services, emergency shelter operation expenses and more.
The second and final round of CESH funding is expected to be available in Spring 2019 to provide essential resources that help homeless families and individuals.
