Alaska Posts 2nd Draft QAP, Bans Income Averaging

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation recently posted its second draft GOAL program Rating and Award Criteria Plan (Qualified Allocation Plan), which covers the LIHTC program, as well as HOME, NHTF, and Senior Citizens Housing Development Fund. Public comments are due by 5:00 p.m. June 14th, 2018 and may be provided to Andy Petroni via email at apetroni@ahfc.us. Recent Changes include the following:

• The Income Averaging set aside will not be permitted for LIHTC projects.
• All projects targeting families with children must provide an on-site recreation area. The area and its access routes must be ADA compliant.
• NHTF projects funded through the GOAL program are limited to new construction.
