Senate Finance Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT) announced yesterday that he will not seek reelection in 2018. Senator Hatch, in his seventh term, is the most senior GOP senator. Not only did Hatch play a critical role in the recent tax reform legislation, but he is also a great ally for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit – serving as the lead Republican co-sponsor on legislation to expand and improve the credit.
