Governor Baker recently announced an initiative, An Act to Promote Housing Choices, to incentivize the creation of 135,000 housing units across Massachusetts over the next eight years. The plan creates incentives for municipalities to produce housing units as well as proposes local zoning law changes to free up municipalities in allowing for the development.

$10 million in incentives, grant funding, and technical assistance would be provided each year.
